Hi Steve - this is when you are looking at a parent directory (Customized List Name) right? In the table view there is no customize button. If you create a sub beneath that you will get the button. I think it is a feature ;0)

David - click Systems by Type there will be no customize option If you look at any one of the subs beneath that they will have the customize button.

- Jim

SIM 5-Customizing Table Views

Running SIM 5.0. I created a new system group and added that group to be viewed on my home page; however I cannot customize the table views for this group to remove the VPM and SW columns. I can only do this in the All Systems lists by clicking the customize link. Am I missing something or is this by design?
Are you saying that when you take a collection and make it the home page that the 'Customize' link is not available? I just made a collection I created called 'Mine' on my HP SIM 5 system the home page and I still have the Customize link.

Thanks for the quick reply.

If I go to the Systems and Events on the left part of the screen, and select "All Systems", I see the customize link and I can remove columns. If I create a group under systems\private or systems\shared, add systems to those, and view them either by selecting the group or assigning it as my home page view, I dont have the customize link and all the columns are viewed.

Hope this explains things better

'Systems by Type' isn't a collection itself, it is a collection of collections. It has no attributes to customize. By default, it is supposed to be a tree view, but, yes, you can change that to table view, so I can see how it could be confusing. To get the view you want, define an actual list (collection) that contains the systems you want to display and when you set it to be your home page the 'Customize' link will be there.

See there you go feature :0)

I would like to say though that when you remove the VM or PF columns that it should apply to all views to which it doesn't. It is not a problem, but it would be consistent.

- Jim
