I'm having this exact problem and noticed something.

When you try to retrieve the value from the system, look at the status bar of your browser to see the URL being tried...you can see the OID being passed as a parameter but it only goes up to 10892...not to 10892.1.300.10.1.9. I think there is some variable in SIM that is too short for the long Dell OID number. Can anyone confirm this?

I'm trying to manage a handful of Dell PowerEdge 6650 servers with HPSIM and I'm having some difficulty with the "Manage System Types" rule to identify 3rd-party systems.

Here's the mib information I was hoping to use:
dell10892.mib
chassisModelName
1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1.300.10.1.9

I can walk the mib and it returns "PowerEdge 6650"

When I try to retrieve the value from the system, I get an error.

For now I'll make do with:
dell10892.mib
SystemManagementSoftwareDescriptionName
1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1.100.4

This returns "Management Software for Dell systems"

I'm just a little puzzled why the other value which seems more appropriate doesn't work.

Dave
