Hello

I have HP SIM installed and deployed the agents to Proliant servers. I also have a number of other HP servers, e.g. LPr and LP1000r, and HP workstations, e.g. xm4100. Is it possible to install agents on these types of machine and if so where do I download?!

If there are agents, can they be loaded in to the respository for deployment to 'many' machines?

Thanks
Tim

I have managed to get some of the agents installed on an 'HP LPr' by using the deployment tool and the setup program in the repository.

However, the HP Insight Management Agents for Windows 2000/Server 2003 will not install. It errors saying the 'appropriate system management controller driver' needs to be installed, but I can't see which one this is.

Any help appreciated.
Tim

Go to HP.com -> Software and Driver Downloads -> Enter Netserver LP 1000r -> Select Netserver LP 1000r -> Select your operating system and then download the "Utility HP Server Agents". If I'm right HPSIM should be able to pull data from those agents.

Thank for the good advice/information. Is there an agent for PC's and workstations such as the Kayak range? A generic one would suffice.
No agents for desktops and workstations.

HP SIM connects to those devices via WMI in Windows XP and such for inventory information. Make sure you have the correct username/password specified in Global Protocol Settings prior to doing a discovery. Or change them by drilling down on a device and change the credentials individually.
