I have 3 servers showing as major and all three come up with ILo errors. ILO has never plugged in on these servers so my question would be how do I disable ILO through SIM5 or directly on the server.

Thanks

Alex,
when the server starts, during POST it should come up with an <HIT f8="" for="" ilo=""> msg (i dont remember the exact wording). Hit F8 which brings you to the config screen for iLO (The RBSU). The username and password are located on the tab that comes with the server. Top right 'tab' on the screen is where you can switch it off.

If anyone has a method without restarting, i would like to know about it too, as i have 9 servers with the above "error".

Oh, and turning iLO back on: You need to shutdown the server:
Locate the Security Override Switch on the motherboard, turn it ON, F8 into the RBSU, enable it, shutdown the server, turn the Switch OFF again and restart again..

Rgds Stefan</HIT>

Removing the remote service from the agent panel in the control panel worked, the servers dropped from major to normal. Just an agent restarted was needed.

thanks
