    <description>Igor - thanks for your reply.  I couldn't view the article as it tried to log me onto the US site, then said I hadn't got a US login and re-directed me back to the European site.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Rob - yes I managed to use the sc command to delete the hpdiags service from the Server.  I didn't need to uninstall the hpdiags software first either.  Hope it will still work.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;As an aside, how does the Hp Diagnostics actually run, as it no longer runs as a service and there's nothing in Start, Programs to run it.  Does it just run when you run up the Insight Maangement home page for a server?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Lenny&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <title>HP Insight Disgnostics not starting</title>

      <description>I know this or something similar about the C:\Compaq directory being replaced with C:\hp has been asked before as I've seen it, but cannot find it during a search so here we go again:-&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Just installed 7.40A on my Insight server and the HP Insight Diagnostics service doesn't start as it points to a C:\Compaq\hpdiags directory whereas the 7.40A service is installed in C:\hp\hpdiags. The pathname is greyed out too so you cannot edit it in the service.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;How do you fix this?  I've edited the registry to replace all occurrences of C:\Compaq\hpdiags with C:\hp\hpdiags and that actually changed the path in the greyed out box.  However the service still won't start and still generates errors in the event log during boot.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Lenny</description>

      <description>Just checked my Server, both the compaq\hpdiags and hp\hpdiags directories exist.&lt;BR /&gt;The hpdiags.exe is the same version in both, 7.4.0.1570.&lt;BR /&gt;I seem to recall that the hpdiags no longer runs as a service. I think that changed around 7.2. There was an issue where the old Service based hpdiags would not be removed during the upgrade. &lt;BR /&gt;I think I used the dos sc command to remove the service after I'd uninstalled HP Diagnostics and then reinstalled.</description>
