Completly remove management Agents manually

Is there a way to manually remove management Agents?
I have a server with management agents 4.9, I tried to uninstall them but it fails, then I tried to install version 7.20 and 7.30, but the installation also fails. The agents does not appear in Add/remove programs, but there is an icon in control panel and services also.

Wow - you've got an old install there!! What OS/Version are you using? The last Agent version approved for Windows NT4 was version 6.31 - is this part of your problem?

The only other thing I could see you doing is some registry hacking to remove all trace of the various Compaq agents (Tread softly Grasshopper!!), and removing the files and directories from the C: drive.

I'm using windows 2000 server, I tried to remove the registry keys of the agents, and also the files in c:\winnt\system32, so the services and files are gone after a restart but the installation of 7.20 or 7.30 agents still fails.

Is there anything else you think I can try? Because I don't want to have to think about reinstalling the server!
