Generally it's the other way round, the receiving station accepts and decodes the SNMP Traps sent. Everything gets sent to it and it just ignores those it doesn't understand.

You're going to have to work long and hard to maintain this set up if you try and get HPSIM to only send traps on selected events only.
I'm not too sure how you would do that.

You can either forward all the traps on from HPSIM or get the agents to send them directly to HPSIM and Unicentre or just to Unicentre.

Hi,

I must configure HP SIM to send snmp traps to a CA TNG Unicenter server. And then messages will appear on TNG console to the operators. There are lots of mibs over than 1100. It's long to check all and to enable or disable trap handling. I don't want to send all the messages on the console. I have difficulties to identify which message to send at the console
For example : I send a message with a server is unreacheable, but I don't know what is the MIB associated. If anyone can help me ? Is there anyone who has deployed snmp traps to TNG console
Thanks in advance.

Eric
