It should work straight forwardly. Have you or anybody who uses HPSIM has configured a Delete events or Clear events task? Also, if this is a upgraded setup (HPSIM 4.x to 5.0) then simply run through the edit procedure of this task

How is the SNMP-trap settings on the client ?

Snmp service - traps, set the ip to the managementserver and the default community string.

Regards
Johann Folkestad

What do you mean you changed the event job to your service account "HP Systems Insight Manager"? Are you talking about the account that the service "HP Systems Insight Manager" runs under? My event matches that services (both are domain accounts) but it still doesn't work. I also deleted and recreated the event task but it still doesn't work.

It was working until I messed with the versions of Java running on my SIM server. I deleted an older version and upgraded to the newest version. Is there something that needs to be done when changing version of Java?

Nancy

Yes, I mean the Windows accout which you start SIM. When you create a new task, there is now place to put the owner, you must click on edit to change it.

The best way is that you create the Event Handling with an existing collection. You can check when there is a new event if the last run value change in the same time (in Automatic Event Handling - Manage Tasks)

Regards,
Stephane
