hello,

i have just a little problem with ip address binding in SMH on servers that are members of MS NLB cluster.

NICs configuration is:

1-st NIC is a private and ip-address set, for example 192.168.1.33, it's for information exchange inside cluster between nodes.

2-nd NIC is a public. Primary ip is, for example 10.0.64.33, it's public identification address and one virtual ip, group ip-address that identical with NLB cluster address.

Problem:
SMH cannot bind 10.0.64.33, why?, i don't know.
when i'am setting in Settings->Security->ip binding 10.0.64.33/255.255.255.0 SMH bind group address of NLB cluster, when i'am setting 10.0.64.33/255.255.255.255 it binds nothing except loopback address.

Any ideas????

thanks

The version 2.1.2 of SMH that was in the SS7.40PSP had an issue where it would not properly bind to all the IP addresses correctly. There was a web release that can be found here:

http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/23560.html

hopefully it will correct the problem you are seeing.

-Rich
