topic TopTools? in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

I'm attempting to install SIM on a system that had IM 7. I receive an error that it cannot be installed on a system that has TopTools. I don't know what TopTools is and I can't find it in services or under add/remove programs.

This is one of those cases when an assumption is being made that may not be completely accurate. Whatever the problem it actually is running in to, the helpful message isn't being that helpful. It thinks it has run into something that may or may not be valid.

Regardless, it sounds like your IM7 de-install wasn't completely clean. Probably need to rebuild the server OS.

Greetings. There is a white paper I believe on how to successfully remove the IM7 software, files, directories, registry entries and it may be a good idea to off load the Database files itself that you used for IM7.

I found a toptools registry entry, deleted it, and it installed fine after that.
