Hi

According to the following doc, the MSA 500 is not supported. Only MSA1000 and 1500 are.
http://h10018.www1.hp.com/wwsolutions/misc/hpsim-helpfiles/msa_provider.pdf

To get your storage discovered by HPSIM, you need to install a SMI-S provider on one of the server connected to the storage box.

Volumes created on the array and presented to the server (logical drives) can be monitored with PMP (to get performance data) and disk usage thresholds can be set as well through the system maangement homepage.

regards

frederic.

Hi,

HP SIM does not 'see' my storage.
HP SIM is installed on the same server (a ML350 G3) as where the MSA500 is attached.
The latest Proliant Support Pack is installed on the server. Storage Essentials is NOT installed on the Central Management Server.

Martien
