Configure Insight Manager to send Mail about Health Status

Hi,
I configured the insight manager to send automatically email messages on all critical events, but it does not work on the status report. For example: The loss off a disc is a minor health status. Does anyone know how to configure insight manager to send email messages even on status messages. Thanks

HPSIM relies on Traps being sent to it from the agents to generate events.

In the case where a Server crashes then it is the HPSIM process that generates the critical event. This is because the process that checks the Server is there records the event.

To get HPSIM to react to things like failed disks you need the Agents installed on that Server. Then you need to configure SNMP to send traps to the HPSIM Server (Trap Destination).

Once done when a disk fails, the Agent detacts it and issues the trap. This is all independent of the process where HPSIM checks on the overall status of the Server.
The benefit is the trap has specific detail of exactly what has failed.

We have a couple of question about â how to toâ
What do you mean with â agentâ is this the agent on the local machine like the Hardware Agent from HP on each HP Machine.
I think all the agent will be installed automatically during the default installation and the Trap Destination is always the Inside Manager Server. Our Insight Management Server show us the critical part from all Source Server like â Server shutdown,â ¦â but if the same server has a hard disk problem we see only a status information â minor statusâ and not a critical status or better a major/critical event. How we can use the â minor statusâ to send a mail automatically to the Server Admins
