Hi there,

we are working with HP SIM 4.22
I wondered if I can add Virtual Cluster Server.

We are running a MS Windows Cluster ServerA and ServerB. On this two Servers we installed a Windows Cluster ServerC.
All three servers are shown in SIM.

Now we added several virtual Servers on the cluster.
How can I show them in SIM??

Thanks for any help.

Regards Melanie

hi,

is Windows Cluster ServerC discovered as an MSCS cluster (with two nodes being MS Windows Cluster ServerA and ServerB)?

if yes you will keep on seeing him but in the ressources tab of cluster monitor, you should see appearing your new virtual servers. see attached jpeg. I run an MSCS cluster with several sql instances (one per virtual server)I am running HPSIM 5.0.0, but I think the cluster monitor part hasn't changed in the meantime a part for the interface but that is general to the 5.0 release.

regards

fred

regards

I can see Cluster ServerC. But if I start Cluster Monitor (click on ServerC) I wait and wait and wait and wait...nothing happens. Just the information, that Cluster Monitorin is loading.

How long do I have to wait - or do I have to configure something to start Cluster Monitoring??

Thanks for your help.
Melanie

Hi

on each node of the cluster, insight agents are installed. You need to configure them to deal with the cluster layer. In control panel / HP Management agents :check that the clustering information is active on the agent settings, see attached picture.

regards

fred.
