We have HP SIM 5.0 SP3 running and installed VPM 1.11 without any error messages.
We configured the VPM setiings in SIM to "Acquire updates from Internet" and use a Proxy without authentication. The Proxy configuration is the same as the configuration in IE which works fine.

When starting the "Acquire Updates" Task to get the W2k3 Updates it completes in 1 or 2 seconds. No Event from the task even after 1,5 days. The "D:\Program Files\HP\VPM\radia\IntegrationServer\data" directory is still empty.
I have attached the "patch-acquire.log"

Looks like the acquisition process is hung. At the beginning of each acquisition in the patch-acquire.log we list the process id for the nvdkit.exe that is running the acquisition.

You can kill the process, (1128) in this case, and start another acquisition.

If you have submitted mutliple acquisitions, they get queued, so if the first one is stuck, all other acquisitions are queued up waiting.

Each time we start an acquisition task we get en error ID 1000 in the windows application Event log (see attached document).
When I logon to the server where VPM runs I get an errormessage "nvdkit encountered a problem and needed to close".
A reboot of the server does not help. We get the some messages again.

The one in <WINDOWS>\system32

is the one of major concern.

I would rename it to something else
and reboot the system.

As you can see, you suddenly are using the
1040 kb version sized one.

I think each app. is expecting the one in their respective app. directories.

tag</WINDOWS>
