topic PSP 7.41? in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

Howdy,

I have been using HPSIM 5.0 SP3 for the last week and think this is a great tool. I have upgraded on of my new servers with new firmware/drivers/management agents remotely using HPSIM. Now when I go to the Version Control Agent it shows that my Installed Version in red meaning they are newer than the support pack version. I have 7.40B loaded in the repository, but I can't find 7.41. Can anyone hlp me with this?

Thanks

First off, change the VCA to use a Reference Pack. Otherwise it tests against the entire repository.

Second, there's no PSP 7.41. There is a 7.41 version of the Management Agents.
This version fixes some problems with CPU and Disk I/O thresholds being to easily exceeded.

thanks for the reply rob. I've attached a screen shot from the VCA for you to make it easier to explain. As you can see I do have the VCA using a reference pack.

i just understand how i can have components with newer versions that the proliant support packs. like i said...i'm a newbie with HPSIM and am still learning.

thanks!

I've not seen that before.
Are those entries really in red?
I've done similar updates and mine display fine.
You may want to check the version of the VCRM, mine is 2.1.3.740.

In the VCA Config screen where you select the Reference Pack, if you have the box checked that sets an exact match, uncheck that.

The text is:
"When checked, software status is based on installed software's version matching exactly that software's version in the Reference Support Pack."

This forces an exact match, you just want to meet the Support Pack or be better.
