WMI Mapper Confusion

Can anyone explain how to setup a WMI Mapper proxy?

I have read and implemented a WMI Mapper according to http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00210041/c00210041.pdf

However I do not fully understand it. Primarily I do not understand how to configure servers in the DMZ to use the proxy, or to distinquish which servers should communicate through the proxy in the CMC.

In my test setup servers still try to communicate directly to the CMC from the DMZ. How do I configure them to use the proxy?

Do I need to install additional agents on the proxy client servers?

Does the CMC try to use the proxy for all servers on the proxy subnet?

If anyone has a better understaning or knows where to find additional documentation let me know.

What is the OS / Hardware on the Servers in the DMZ?
What's the CMC? or is that the HPSIM Server?

Typically to get Servers to talk through the DMZ you need to open selected ports depending on how much visibility you want.
The WMI Mapper only comes into play for non-Windows OSes.
You may also need to change some of the configs to use IP Addresses where names may not get resolved.

The OS's are W2K and W2K3.
The CMC is the SIM server.
The WMI mapper is using port 5989.
The mapper is used exculisivly for windows os's. It takes WMI and moves it through a WEBM system. I can resolve all names through the firewall.

For further clarification

My CMC is Server A and a WMI proxy.
Server B is in the DMZ and a WMI proxy.
Server C is in the DMZ, how does it know to send WMI information through server C?
How does Server A know to query server C through server B?

Sorry, I've not attempted any of that.
I just use the http/https ports between HPSIM and Clients and allow holes through the firewall for 2301/2381 for HPSIM to talk top the Servers in the DMZ. In addition we allow SNMP from host to host and have the SNMP on the Servers in the DMZ tightened down with different community names and selected host access only, but there's another hole through for SNMP from DMZ Servers back to HPSIM.

I'm not sure what you're trying to do.
