topic SIM Database Upgrade Issues in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas regarding the following issue. We have SIM 4.2 and are upgrading to SIM 5.0. Now, we know that the database name changes when going to 5.0. The problem is that we have an extensive amount of spreadsheets, webpages, etc... that point to the 4.2 database name. All these items will not work or have current info once we upgrade. Does anyone have any solution or way to minimize the impact?

Try to change the default database in the ODBC Connection.

Alternatively you can do the following:
Create a new database (e.g. SIM_Reporting) and create views as needed for your spreadsheets and reports, which points to the SIM db (Using the full qualified table name [servername].database.owner.tablename).

If you ever have to change the db (by upgrading or reinstalling SIM) you only have to change those views.

Maybe that helps, on my site it works fine...

Regards
Jimmy

The database name did not change during our upgrade from 4.2 to 5.0. It was only corrupted, as many of us here, that led me to reinitialize and reconfigure it...
