topic Two separate systems for one Virtual Machine Guest. in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

I currently have two systems for each virtual machine guest showing in SIM. One entry has the dns name and IP address as it is on the network with only a green check in the HS column and labeled Unmanaged. The other has the VMware display name as its System Name, no IP address, labeled as a Server, a green check in the VM column, and a blue question mark in the HS and PF columns.

Am I wrong in assuming these two entries are supposed to be combined in SIM to show a single server with all of that information?

My VM guest is showing healthy and is registered and licensed in SIM.

I've always kept the display and dns names the same and I do not get that issue.

Yes you should get a consistent entry, and I know for Servers use dns to sort out the name. But I'm not too sure what additional complexity keeping the display and dns names different would introduce.
