The latest firmware and drivers are now installed but the disk still shows as unknown in the "Files system Disk Space Used" under tasks in the management homepage. It also does not appear under "Logical Disks".

Hi All,
I have Systems Insight Manager 5.0 - Windows and a Proliant DL380 G3 (Windows 2000 server) with Proliant Support pack 7.40. When I go into the Homepage and look at the "File system Space Used" both the C; and D: drives show fine and report the correct disk space used, however the F: drive reports as unknown and all data for the F: drive shows as N/A. has anyone got any ideas on how I can get this drive to report it status?
Hi Neil,

What kind of storage is it? Direct attached or Network?

I had some issues with the file system spaced used with the older agents and our HSG80 SAN, though it was more the thresholds showing incorrect than the actual info returned.

I found it worked OK using the agent version 7.41 - maybe have a look at:
http://h18002.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/revision/7258.html

I've got a similar setup with an external storageworks box (different server) but not had issues of not seeing the external drives for earlier or later sim & agents.

In my setup the external drives are the E:drive.

In the homepage for the monitored system, under 'storage' are you able to see the 5300 controller? If so, when clicking on this, does it then show the drives in the storage box? There's also an identify drives option there that I think should flash the leds on the drives (not used it myself). Maybe if any aspects there aren't correct that might offer a clue.

Maybe too, there's a later rom update available on the 5300 (though that might be too radical a step at this stage)
