Hi

I have read through the forum to see if this has been asked before and I couldnt find it so here goes.

I am installing Insight Manager 7 2.3 on a Windows 2003 server with SQL 2000 Sp 3a. When I get to the database creation section it says SQL is not installed or access is denied. I have installed other products that use SQL and create their own db's without a problem, so there are no permission issues with the user. As it is internal on my management network which has no access to it from the outside world I am using the sa password for database creation and communication. I know its not the correct way to do it but theres no other traffic to it but from trusted hosts/users.

Any thoughts on what I could look at or try?

sounds similar to this problem :

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=503311

but since there is no solution yet, maybe another thread is what it needs ...

Please excuse me for a double posting of an issue that was already being looked into.
However with a look at the other one I have added the instance and server name as servername\servername and it installed fine.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
