How can I suppress an undesired MIB from generating an error? Is there a file I can edit that will delete the Agents from monitoring it?

You can disable those agents which you don't want to monitor.
Click on Start->Control panel->HP Management Agents. Select those agents which you dont need in Active section and inactivate it by clicking on Remove button and click on OK button.

Hope this helps.

-Anantha
I do not want to disable an agent as it is monitoring more then the mib I seek to disable. Thanks for your reply, but my question is specific to mibs and not the agents themself.

Hi Jay.

You have two solutions:
- if you want to disable all the mib, log on to the CMS (not SIM, the server itself), open a DOS command and type
MXMIB -d filename.mib
This will uncompile the entire mib
- if you want to disable some traps, log on sim then Options/events/SNMP Traps Settings
Select the mib then the trap and set the 'Enable trap handling' to 'No'
