Does anyone know when the new release of system insight manager is due, I am using CIM7 2.3 at the moment and am having loads of trouble with it. The SQL database is not getting updated when I manually edit a device.

I have new hardware and I want to go straight to Systems Manager, although it might be worth waiting for the new release as this will include an upgrade path from CIM 7.

Current status looks like late April.

Can you be more specific about the problem you're experiencing?

Yeah the problem is:-

Auto discovery has found loads of devices etc, all of the automatic processes work fine.

However, when I have to modify the data manually, i.e. add or edit a device. The SQL database is not updated with the new info. I am unchecking the 'Ignore .....' box.

The only way I can get the data to change is to manually edit the SQL data using TSQL scripts.

Any help would be appreciated.

'Edit Device'
Server name, Type and Locks

'Add Device'
Adding servers manually, they are behind firewalls, but the logs show no drops apart from the occasional ICMP ping.

Do you know the process behind the CIM7 updates, i.e. whether it collates all the info/updates and updates SQL at a particular time etc.

If I modify the data within SQL using TSQL queries, the CIM front end changes immediatley, but if I modify the data through CIM it never changes.
I have to reboot periodically as well. It always works after the reboot so I just make sure I schedule once a week reboots to keep it up and running....
