I had the exact same issue with SIM 4.2. It is linked to your user account for some reason. I created another account "kevin2" and logged in with it. The issue was gone.

I have since upgraded to SIM 5 and the issue has not come back.

We run HP SIM 4.2 sp2 on a w2k sp4 server and we have set up automatic event handling. But for a while ago we can't get into the menu, it's seem like it flashes for a millisecond perhaps and then disapaears.
Maybe we have put on some security patch which have broken the function. It doesn't matter if I am locally or from a remote host/client.
Anyone who recognize this ?

Sincerely

\\Jonas B
