Yes, that is expected behaviour. Before the replicate agent settings can work, there must be a trust relationship between SIM and the source/destination servers. You can update the trust settings with it though, to add a new certificate, or change the trust mode. If the servers were set to "trust all" it would also work.

To establish the initial trust you could use the Configure or Repair agents function. That requires ssh connectivity to linux servers and netbios to windows servers, and knowing an administrative account.

Replicate Agent Settings

I'm trying to replicate a few settings from a source server (ie., Trust Mode config, snmp settings, and VCA settings). These systems are configured with a "Trust by Cert" setting. When I try to replicate, I receive an error telling me it the server isn't trusted, and that I should establish a trust relationship first.

So I visit each server (from the HP SIM console) and manually import the cert from the server and after that, I am able to distribute all other settings.

Is this the correct behaviour? It seems strange to me that I have the option to distribute these settings remotely, but then am not able to do so because of the trust relationship. Thanks.

Thanks. I tried to "Configure or Repair" and received the following:

"There was a problem connecting to the HP Systems Insight Manager server. Make sure that:
1. Your username has been added to HP Systems Insight Manager.
2. Your username and password, if specified, are correctly spelled.
3. HP Systems Insight Manager is running.
4. You used ´--´ for any long options and double quotes if your username includes a domain.
Example: <COMMANDNAME> --user "mydomain\myusername" --pass mypassword"

I know it seems an obvious account or access problem, but everything seems fine and I am able to do other things. Any ideas?

Thanks.</COMMANDNAME>
