I am trying to compile the latest APC PowerNet MIB (3.6.1) into HP SIM.

I can create the .CFG file (MCOMPILE powernet361.mib) - this completes OK.

The error occurs when I try to register the MIB (MXMIB -a powernet361.cfg). The full error text is as follows:

Error: File 'powernet361.cfg' Error reading MIB: TRAP-TYPE: Invalid severity Line: 16068

AN ERROR OCCURED EXECUTING THE COMMAND

I do not fully understand the structure of MIBs and have no idea what I am looking for.

Any MIB Guru's out there?

I have attached the file if it helps.

Martin
Martin,

Have you since had any problems with newer MIB files from APC? I've been using HP SIM for some time, but I just now tried to put the latest PowerNet MIB on (3.8.1), and got the same error, except for line number.

Thanks,

Dennis Ward

Martin,

The 3.8.0 mib and cfg loaded just fine for me - Thanks.

I do, however, wonder how you got the APC devices to show-up in SIM. I setup InfrastruXure Manager to send SNMP traps to the SIM box, but I'm not seeing anything within SIM. And I have in fact had several events (ie 'On Battery Backup'). Did you encounter any related issues?

Thanks,

Dennis
