Solution:
1. I enabled SNMP Traffic(ports 161-162) and SMH (2381) to iLO network.
2. Removed all blades, Encl and Racks from SIM
3. Updated BladeSystem IM Plug-In for SIM from v2.1 to 2.2
4. Re-discovered iLO network as first.
5. Re-discovered server network ...
see also:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/bizsupport/questionanswer.do?threadId=1029392

We manage over 120 HP servers, some of them are blades.

We installed a new HP SIM server, configured snmp settings and did a first discovery.
Everything seems to be fine except for some parts of the blade enclosures not showing.
For instance, the power supply information is shown as a question mark and the enclosures do not display information as should. => doc

We upgraded firmwares of all Blasdes: ILO's, ROM's, etc... to the latest version. => doc

We upgraded the firmware of the blade enclosures and the power enclosures to version 2.30 => doc

If I move my mouse over the question marks of the power supplies, HP SIM is telling me I need to upgrade the ILO firmware to version 1.8 or greater to view the power supply information.

Can anyone put me in the right direction how to solve this

I've got the same situation here.

2 power supply enclosures:
Enclosure One displays correctly in SIM
Enclosure Two was detected by SIM but displays a blue question mark with no power supplies in it.

Note: The iLO Rack View diplays all enclosures correctly.

I've spoken with HP support about this several times with no resolution.

After upgrading the firmware to version 2.30. I had to delete every blade and enclosure from SIM. Make sure anything blade related is gone. Then add them back in, everything showed up properly then.

Thx for the replies.

Deleting the blades and rescanning did indeed solve the problem. Strange because every x seconds the enclosures are scanned for changes.

I also managed to configure the interconnect switches so they display their information in SIM.

Almost all parts are shown now in the blade rack except for a few ESX servers where I need to install the agents for.

Blade&Power Enclosure FW updated from 2.20 to 2.32. All Blades, Encl und whole Rack removed and re-added to SIM 5. The problem with question marks on Power Enclosure View in SIM still exist. (see attached screenshot).
Any ideas?
Regards,
Juergen Kopp
