VMware Server is part of the "Virtual Infrastructure 3" grouping. HP does not yet support it in SIM. An update will come sometime in September.

VMware Server is not part of VI3. It is probably more like a successor to VMware GSX.

VMware Server is hosted on top of an operating system, either Linux or Windows. You can use the management agents for the right platform on the physical host and see it just fine in HP SIM.

VMM support for VMware Server is coming.

Thank you!

SIM does detect a VMWare server but does not seem to list the virtual machines within it. This in turn seems to be the reason why the p2v functionality from within HPSIM is not working (I can select a physical server but do not get any listing for any host servers running VMWare).

I am having the same issue. I can see that it is installed on the physical machine, But I can not see any of the virtual machines that are running on it. I am running windows 2003 with VMserver 1.0.1. This is keeping the P2V from working.

Thanks for any help on this.
