SNMP mailing

Hi all,

i have dataprotector servers to send snmp traps. but i need those traps to be sent to me as email.
could you please tell me what is required to be done for that?
what software for get mails for those snmp alerts and where to install ? is that only snmp can do it ?
please guide me to some document which explains the configuration steps in details.

Hi Ramesh,

i think this doc is about HP insight manager settings to send email using gui.
i dont have insight manager.

can i use any other freeware in place of it ?
or any setting in SNMP to directly send email-alerts ?

Are you using HPSIM? Your e-mail is not clear.

HPSIM can receive SNMP Traps and then generate events, HPSIm can then send an e-mail of that event.

Hi,

i tried install and configure HPSIM and its sending the email with all the details.

But i need to filter it based on the Error codes in Dataprotectore like some text in the message "90:54" or "90:59". Also want to change the contents of the mail. to show only relevant information to me.

Is it possible to contomize the email ?
