I think you re database is in mode read, stop you HPSIM service and try backing it up.

In veritas you have an agent that can backup item that are in mode READ and one for SQL also.

I am using SIM 5.0 SP5 with Veritas Backup Exec for Windows Vers 10 Build 5520 w/SQL Server Agent.

I receive the following errors when attempting to backup the SIM databases:

"Unable to open item Insight_v50_125326259.mdf - skipped."
"Unable to open item sqlbpa.mdf - skipped."
"Unable to open item vmm_db_v2.mdf - skipped."

The Backup Exec configuration has been checked; all other databases located on the SQL Server 2000 backup fine.

Anyone have any ideas as to what is causing these errors and how to resolve it?
