Hi,

I am working on SIM version 5 (windows 2003 server),and i would like to manage LINUX systems.
If i can't deploy Proliant Support Pack, (because my hardware is not proliant),which is the better way to monitor these systems by SIM.
SNMP,WBEM, etc..?

Thanks,
Fabrizio

Hi Fabrizio,

Not sure whether this would be applicable for Linux. But since the OS platforms mentions Linux please check whether this is helpful:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c00771087&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

Also refer this to find the documents related to installations and configuration for Linux HP SIM:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c00788822

Regards,
rmn

Thanks.
Seems that the better way is via SNMP.But i have a question:
How can i configure SNMP agent to notify hardware fault?

Regards,
Fabrizio

Hi Fabrizio,

You may want to check the "Configuring the Managed System Software" section in this document:

http://h10018.www1.hp.com:80/wwsolutions/misc/hpsim-helpfiles/hpsim_userGuide.pdf

Hope this explains!!!!!

Regards,
rmn
