I just installed HP SIM 5.00.02 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 Update 3.

Accessing the SIM Web GUI from the local host (http://localhost:280) works fine, but attemption to access it remotely from another workstation (http://simserver:280) just times out.

The server is pingable, I can connect via SSH, the existing Apache web server (http://simserver:80) works just fine, and there are no firewall rules blocking port 280. I'm obviously missing something here...

I can't seem to find any documentation on this, and I can't locate any log file entries thar provide any insite.

Any ideas?

Typically the HPSIM Page is accessed via https:server:50000.

Using your http command above, it will still switch to the https connection on 50000.
