Generally speaking, status icons are related to whether or not HP SIM can communicate with an IP-connected device such as a server, management processor, printer, etc. A p-Class enclosure does not have its own IP connection to the network, so HP SIM does not reflect a status for the enclosure itself when viewed as an individual element. Versions of the BladeSystem Integrated Manager present in HP SIM 5.0 SP5 and later work around this and will display an aggregate status based on the status of the components present, although the enclosure element in the collection list will still be without status.
