Rob is correct. HP SIM 5.1 (officially C.05.01.00.00) is what is required for North America DST 2007 compliance. The underlying OS also needs to be patched.

I'm trying to find the download for this. Any help ? the one on the website says version: HPSIM-Win_C.05.00.02.00.exe...Is this the correct one? I thought we were looking for c.05.01.xx.xx

Well the HP SIM 5.1 (on Windows) installs five different non-windows registered Sun Java JRE's. Unfortunitly some of these were not updated with JRE's new enough with the DST fixes. Do a file search for java.exe.

1.5.0_08 HP SIM CMS 5.1
1.5.0_06 OSEM
1.3.1_10 SWM
1.4.2_06 Vir Mgt
1.4.2_06 Vir Mgt client

According to Sun Java DST webpage http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/Intl/USDST_Faq.html

The US2007DST data changes were incorporated into the following releases: 1.3.1_18, 1.4.2_11, 1.5.0_07.

I guess we will have to run the Sun Java TZupdater on the JRE versions that do not include the updated TZ files.

I take it that if we are only monitoring UK or Europe based servers, the patch isn't required?

Also if you are forced to patch because a US company hits everything rather than being selective, what affect will it have on servers running hpsim agents of various flavours, anyone know?

HP SIM is the only application that had any implications for DST; the other "under the covers" applications did not. As you can see, the JRE associated with HP SIM is DST compliant. When the other applications go through updates, they will update to newer versions of the JRE.
