    <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;is there any Soloution for this Problem.&lt;BR /&gt;I've got the same Problem, after Update last Week.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks for any Replys</description>

      <description>have upgraded to 5.1, and now i cannot manually discover a host by ip or hostname.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i get a "HP Systems Insight Manager is atempting to add the system." box and thats it.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>I had the same problem ,it seem to be able to discover it only IP addresse ,not name...bizarre</description>

      <description>Please try these steps:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1. Have you tried to ping it from your HP SIM server?  &lt;BR /&gt;2. Make sure that you have the correct options selected in discovery for whatever type of host it may be.&lt;BR /&gt;3. Log onto the server you are trying to add and be sure that SNMP is set up properly for your network.  SNMP has to be working for SIM to add a server.</description>

      <description>Hi thanks for your suggestions.&lt;BR /&gt;That all works fine.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;We've got the Problem after upgrading from 4.2&lt;BR /&gt;Monitoring for discovered Systems works all the Time.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I'll try a Test Trap at Monday and will post the Result.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thats my last idea.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Greets</description>

      <description>Graeme is right, SIM has to be able to talk to the device in order to add it into the database.  On the SIM server, try pinging the device by IP (and/or name) and see if it can ping.  &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If it can connect to it, did you look at your Reports for an inventory report to see if the device's IP address is added into the database?  Depending on what version of the agent running on the node (and how old the system), SIM might be 'combining' the node with an existing one b/c the UUID is the same or something.</description>
