Follow the trail. Does an event corresponding to the failure get written to the Windows event log of the failing system? Does the event show up in HP SIM's event list? If HP SIM doesn't have the event, it can't send a notification.

Hi guys, i tried in many ways to get notifications for any storage event ( hard disk failure etc )
Even if the system event handler is configured for sending a mail for "All event types" and for "all systems" I get nothing when I unplug, for example, a hard disk. I also made another event which monitors only "proliant storage events" ...but no way to have a notification.
My version of HP insight is the latest, 5.1.
Mailserver is correctly configured, in fact, i get mails for other events. I've looked for infos everywhere and the configuration seem ok on every aspect. Thanks for any help.
Hi, the event is trapped and shown by HP Insight, written on the event viewer of the server.
I'm also trying the latest old "compaq" insight which delivers correctly the mail notification.
Mibs are the latest and snmp is correctly configured on the target machine, for traps and community. Really strange, I can't figure out why.
