I'd like to know that as well.

I've installed VMM for testing on out CMS, but I can't use it because I can't license the mutha. I could license a PMP on a server by adding a license via the node in SIM. This is unfortunately not possible with ESX hosts.

I use HPSIM 5.1 on Win2k03/SP1, Java 1.4.2 (which I updated to 1.5.11)

I found something:

My regular HP Sim admin account gets a HTTP500, but when I create a new HP Sim user, with the usertemplate set to <NONE>, but with full config rights on everything. This user can access the license manager.
If I create one with the admin template, no go.

So it looks like the admin template is kaputt.

</NONE>

Hello,

When I change the authorisations on an account from all tools to monitor tools, then the license manager works. When I change it back to all tools, then the http status 500 error occurs.
Also with new accounts, the same thing happens.
So I got a work arround, but hope there is a better sollution.

This issue typically occurs after a failed upgrade to SIM 5.1 requiring the editing of the database.props and database.admin files and the running "mxinitconfig -a" to finish the installation. After the install completes, two menu options will appear for License Manager. Neither License Manager option works, both resulting in HTTP 500 errors.

The following workaround has proven to be successful:

1. Stop the HP SIM service
2. Paste a known good copy of licensemanager.xml from 5.0 (attached to this post) into the 'Systems Insight Manager\remove' directory.
3. Restart the HP SIM service.

After this you will only have one option for license manager and it will not go to HTTP 500.

I tried your fix and I no longer get the 500 error. However I no longer have the option to collect/manage keys.

Anyone have a fix for that?

So I did the workaround and now can't see the collect/manage option like Richard stated originally. I can now load license manager but all key info is gone and I have no way to deploy keys. Any ideas?

You probably just need to select the bullet on the item you are trying to find details on. The look has changed with pmp 4.3.
