Hi - Just installed Systems Insight Manager 5.1 today, haven't used Insight for about 7 yrs, boy has it changed!

Anyway the servers I have added to it are displaying a 'green' health status even though I know this shouldn't be the case. I've uploaded the latest SSD's or support pack as you now call them to the version control repository on the Insight Manager server.

I know a few of my servers listed on the console aren't running the latest version control agents and thus shouldn't be showing a healthy status on Insight Mangager. If I log directly onto the server with out of date agents etc it shows a yellow status. Why isn't this being replicated to Insight Manager? Thanks.

Perhaps I can answer my own question here? Perhaps the health status (HS) column refers to just the state of the hardware, which in this case would be all green as there is nothing wrong?

Maybe the Software version status (SW) column refers to the HP version control agent status? If so I dont have any information within the SW column. How do I populate it?

Am I barking up the wrong tree? Thanks

Hi - thanks for the reply. I have set TRAPS - community name to 'wintel' on local server and added the IP address of the insight server and also 127.0.0.1
I've also added the community name 'wintel' to the SECURITY tab accepted community names, plus added the ip address of the insight server and 127.0.0.1 to acccept SNMP packets from these hosts.

So options 1 and 2 are done. I can't find all the info you mention in option 3. I have however imported the certificate as suggested and also set the global protocol settings to 'wintel'.

Still I have no information populating the the SW column on my home page. I'm not sure if I even should have anything here? Also the health status is still showing green even though my foundation agents etc are out of date, they should be yellow.

Managed to fix myself if anyone has the same issue:

Edited servers system properties and ensured operating system for tool filtering was set to 'windows' instead of the default embedded. Then ran the identify systems tool to query the server further.
