We are trying to get SIM working with a Juniper SSL VPN device. I have registered the MIBs, but we do not receive traps from the device at all. I have done packet captures from the SIM server and the Juniper VPN device and the traps are sent, and they hit the network card on the SIM server and look exactly the same. Community strings are also correct.

What would cause the traps to not show up in SIM? Are there any troubleshooting options available in SIM or any log files to see why SIM wouldn't accept the traps?

Thank you.

Options --> Events --> Event Filters and enable 'Accept unregistered traps'

By default, if an event is unregistered (there is no correspond MIB to translate) HP SIM will discard the trap. Enabling this means that the raw OID will be accepted.

I tried that previously, but I still didn't see any events show up under the device. The only thing that shows up is that the device was discovered.
