I'd be inclined to check the browser settings. In IE check you have the bypass for local proxy otherwise the connection may be going out to the internet. For other browsers check that localhost / 127.0.0.1 is in the list of addresses to bypass the proxy.

The system management homepage on some of my servers is not loading on the local machine itself. It loads fine when connecting via SIM or from a remote workstation, just locally it doesn't load. I get the "Page cannot be displayed" page with Cannot find server or DNS error". The address is "https://127.0.0.1:2381/" I can ping 127.0.0.1 fine from the server. Any ideas?

There are some SMH security parameters that can affect what IP address the SMH will attach/respond to - you might look to see if those were modified. Have you tried using "localhost"? You might try:
"https://localhost:2381/" and see if the behavior is any different. I wouldn't think it should be but you might try it out.

-Rich

All the settings appear to be correct. I've tried with localhost, as well as the netbios name and FQDN, all the same result. I can get it to come up fine remotely and through SIM though, no problem.......????

Do you know what version of SMH you have installed? I am trying to remember if there has been a similar issue in the past. It sounds familiar but I can't put my finger on it . . . it may or may not be related to a previous issue but if you have a version I can double check some of the major changes if it is not the latest.

-Rich

Not trying to send you on a wild goose chase but, did you happen to run a Replicate Agent Settings task from HPSIM to the system you are having problems with? Also, if you can, try bumping the SMH service on the system that is showing this behavior and see if the issue clears up. Just stop and restart the service.

Thanks for anymore information you can provide on this.

-Rich

OK, well there was an IP binding issue at one point but I don't think it would cause this issue and based on the version number you gave that version should not have the issue. FYI,

-Rich
