topic SIM, Server Status History, and Reporting in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

I am just starting to run SIM, so forgive the stupid question if this is one. I have about 18 servers I am managing through SIM. Most report a system status Normal, and even when they do report Major errors they revert to Normal after the issue is resolved. However, I have one server (DL580, WinSrv2003Ent) that has no current errors noted (there were some issues with an attached tape library but these have been addressed. In fact, the most puzzling thing is that one of the same server models in another location attached to the same library had the same issue. It was resolved and now no longer shows error when I run a report for system status. Any suggestions? Might there be an event history that continues to show problems.

(Again I mention that there are no errors in Insight manager for thie server, and no serious error in the event logs.)

If you're referring to the status in the Report, the Reports tables are only updated by the Bi-Weekly Data Collection Task, which by default only runs every two weeks.

You can manually kick it off to update the tables.

If it's in the IM agent, check the Integrated Log and clear any errors there.
