      <description>On SIM console device has ? against SW ie software status which suggests that VCA isn't installed, yet it is.  I've tried running identify and auto discovery but no update.&lt;BR /&gt;Any idea what the problem is.</description>

      <description>You have to point your VCA to a VCRM (HP Version Control Repository Manager) on your network. The VCRM should have some reference ProLiant Support Packs in them. Once you do this, VCA will be able to report a software status and the same will be collected by SIM once you run Software Status polling task.</description>

      <description>well that sorted it.  Odd as it was a new build.  Maybe manual discovery doesn't do everything that automatic does.</description>
