topic A warning on groups with HP SIM 5.1 SP1 in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

Hi All,

I wanted to post something usefull since I've been learning the product and asking questions. People have been great at responding.

The following caused the HP SIM 5.1 SP1 CMS to stop accepting all logins to the web console.

I wanted to add a CMS group based on the local group I created on the server in Windows 2003. I accidently filled in a domain name that would have pointed to a non existing account.

I logged back in fine with the service account used to install the CMS. I edited the group and removed the domain entry. After logout out no account could login to the web console any longer.

I checked if the service account was disabled in the domain but it was active. I tried to login with the servers administrator account SIM auto creates and that could not get in. My admin account no longer worked.

I was lucky to have just built the server so I un-installed and re-installed the product.

See ya,
