I see this process pop up every 2 seconds in the task manager. A corresponding cmd.exe is also opened. It caused the cpu usage to jump up to around 80 % as well.

Version: Systems Insight Manager 5.1 Windows
Build version: C.05.01.00.00
Do you have PMP/VMS installed? Are they up and running?

yes PMP and VMS (virtual machine management) is installed and running. What is happening is that when the PMP service starts it also loads the mxpassword process which starts using up CPU and memory until it uses up all resources on the server. Once you stop the pmp service it releases the resources and returns to normal. What is the mxpassword process trying to do? is there something wrong in the config somewhere?
