topic SIM issues- missing Visualization components in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

We have been experiencing Blade/Enclosure/Rack
Visualization issues. With IM7 after great effort, we got the rack with the enclosures showing in a pictorial, with no components. We also got the Blade enclosure pictorial to depict Interconnects, but no blades.
At HP's urging, we installed SIM 4.0, but now we have Blades showing intermittently, but no Interconnects at all. Blades will show for half a day at most and then show as empty slots again.
Having been thru the support channels, I am looking to forum members for advice or experience in resolving a similar problem.

Looking forward to your responses.

Hi,

No expert, but we are slowly getting our blade rack visible in SIM.

1. Make sure that you have SNMP configured correctly on the interconnect switches and that you "discover" them, automaticly or manually. Make sure that you have "switch" selected if you use "discovery filters"

2. Make sure that you discover the ILO

3. We run Hp Management agents 7.0 on W2K and the service " HP Insight Server Agents" crashes after about 2 minutes. Are you seeing the same problem? If so, this might be the reason the blade dissapears from the enclosure.

/U.
