Automatic Event Handling - New Task Error

I've seen several posts regarding the following errors when trying to add a new automatic event handling task:

1st Error:
Line: 2104
Char: 58
Error: Unterminated string constant
Code: 0
URL: https://localhost:50000/mxportal/search/AdvancedEventsSearch.jsp?inframe=alerts

2nd Error:
Line: 118
Char: 5
Error: Object expected
Code: 0
URL: https://localhost:50000/mxportal/search/AdvancedEventsSearch.jsp?inframe=alerts

So far the only fix I've read is to reinstall SIM. Other posts suggest that it is a security problem with the browser but nothing seems to fix it there either. Is the only option really to reinstall? Please tell me there is another fix. Otherwise I think I'll go back to using Compaq Insight Manager 5.30.

Jason,
I don't know the answer and I've not seen the error.
But, HPSIM 4.0 is the first release and does contain some "features".
Before retreating to the old CIM you might want to wait for HPSIM 4.1

The advice as regards HPSIM was to run it in parallel until the bug fix release came out.

Last I heard 4.1 was due out this month.

Jason,

I have had similiar issues, in addition to the menus disappearing. Not sure if you see that as well.

My issue was having an Enclosure with a space in the name i.e. "Enclosure 1".

I can't find the exact thread but after I renamed this Enclosure to not include a space (or underscore) I haven't seen the problem again.

After renaming the Enclosure, remove it from HPSIM and rediscover it.

To resolve this problem , Re-Create The Administrator Account in SIM Server, re-Assign all right on it and the error will be ok.

In my system i doesn't have Administrator NT Account ( He was Renamed)and i have deleted it but after recreated it , the problem was resolved
