    <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have installed in my proliant DL 350 G3 this following packets:&lt;BR /&gt;   &lt;BR /&gt;   hpasm-7.9.0-116.sles9.rpm&lt;BR /&gt;   net-snmp-cmaX-5.1-220.rpm&lt;BR /&gt;   hpsmh-2.1.10-186.rpm&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;It' all ok, but not the snmp service!.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;When I use the "SNMP Test Trap Button", my IML logs are empty.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The /var/log/messages reports this line:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hpsmh : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/opt/hp/hpsmh/data/htdocs/webagent ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/usr/bin/snmptrap -v1 -cpublic localhost enterprises.232  6 11003  system.5.0 s mail enterprises.232.11.2.11.1 i 0 enterprises.232.11.2.8.1 s Test Trap&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If I try to execute the only command:&lt;BR /&gt;/usr/bin/snmptrap -v1 -cpublic localhost enterprises.232  6 11003  system.5.0 s mail enterprises.232.11.2.11.1 i 0 enterprises.232.11.2.8.1 s Test Trap&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I get this error:&lt;BR /&gt;mail: Unknown Object Identifier (Sub-id not found: (top) -&amp;gt; mail)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Mail is the name of my server.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;My snmp.conf is:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;rwcommunity mysecret 127.0.0.1&lt;BR /&gt;trapsink localhost&lt;BR /&gt;rocommunity public 192.168.1.36&lt;BR /&gt;syscontact Sysadmin (root@localhost)&lt;BR /&gt;syslocation Server Room&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Any idea?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks in advance..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Rather than install individual agents etc. you may be better off install the entire PSP.&lt;BR /&gt;See:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/index.html" target="_blank"&gt;http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/index.html&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;And select the software closest to what you're running.&lt;BR /&gt;When the PSP is installed it asks a series of questions and sets up snmp. Well it does on vmware ESX which has a linux look.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;For a comparison of snmp.conf see below for mine:&lt;BR /&gt;rwcommunity  MYRWCom  127.0.0.1&lt;BR /&gt;rocommunity  MYROCom  127.0.0.1&lt;BR /&gt;rwcommunity  MYRWCom myco.co.nz&lt;BR /&gt;rocommunity  MYROCom myco.co.nz&lt;BR /&gt;trapcommunity MYROCom&lt;BR /&gt;trapsink x.x.x.x MYROCom&lt;BR /&gt;syscontact root@localhost (edit snmpd.conf)&lt;BR /&gt;syslocation  MOB3 Computer Room&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The x.x.x.x would be the IP Address of your HPSIM Host.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
