Repository Update Failed, Error Code: 12015

Hello,

I receive an error every time I try to manually update the repository. It has been working in the past, with the last successful update on 07-02-07.

The specific error is:
The automatic repository update failed because an error occurred while retrieving the download site catalog.

Additional Data:
Error for file: C:\hp\hpsmh\data\webapp-data\vcrepository\catalogindex.xml
Error code: 12015
The request to connect to and log on to an FTP server failed.

When I check the directory listed in the error, I only see one file "catalog.xml".

There are no problems with FTP as I can access HP's FTP site from the server using other methods.

I saw another post on this forum that suggests to check the proxy settings but there is no proxy server in the environment here. Plus, it was working without any proxy settings in early July.

Is there anything else I should check?

(HP SIM version 5.01 running on windows 2000 SP4).

what is the version of VCRM?

Make sure ftp://ftp.hp.com & ftp://ftp.compaq.com are accessible from VCRM's system.

VCRM version is 2.1, and I can successfully open ftp.hp.com and ftp.compaq.com from the server hosting SIM.
