I have one doubts with sim I can monitorear desktops installing some type of agent

Hi

HP SIM can discover and identify desktops using different protocols (SNMP, DMI and WMI).Using WMI, HP SIM should be able to retrieve a certain amount of infos. The status of the desktop will checked by the following default task :Hardware Status Polling for non Servers.This remains base level management.

There used to be an Insight Agent for Desktops but it doesn't exist anymore.

Desktops have their own management solutions that can integrate into HP SIM.
The HP Systems Insight Manager Connector is included with both HP CPS and HP CFS and enables IT professionals to consolidate deployment and management of HP clients and servers within a single HP Systems Insight Manager console. The connector integrates with HP Client Manager and extends HP
Systems Insight Manager core functionality with client deployment, HP client hardware management, and access to additional Altiris lifecycle management functionality.
