We have a problem with our SIM 5.1 SP1 installation when we try to do a P2V migration.

The SIM CMS server is an HP DL585 G5 running Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 Enterprise Edition.

The following error appears after we have selected the partition to be migrated:

"The iSCSI Initiator is not available. Verify that Microsoft iSCSI Initiator 2.0.2 is installed on the CMS and that the service is running. Reinstall the iSCSI Initiator if the service cannot be started. The iSCSI initiator is available at www.microsoft.com"

iSCSI 2.0.2 (64 bit version) is installed on the CMS Server.

Any help would be recieved gratefully.

Has it been configured into HPSIM?
e.g. from HPSIm, Options->Virtualization Management->Upload Drivers?
This lets HPSIM know where it is.

Rob, thanks for your reply.

However, I have received notification this morning that,

"VMM and SMP are only supported with the HP SIM CMS on 32-bit operating systems. Installing VMM and SMP with the HP SIM CMS running on 64-bit operating systems is not supported."

This quote was taken from the following page (towards the bottom):
http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12328_div/12328_div.html

I wish I'd known this before spending 2 days trying to get it to work!

Regards,

Jonathan
