Just to add to that, there's quite a package of components that feed into the overall view.

There are a number of HP drivers and components that supply information to the HP Agents. It is from the agents that the SMH pulls it's display.

That's why the recommended procedure is to install the entire PSP as it's a supported bundle. Selecting individual bits will most likely produce unpredictable results.

Can you install only HP System Management Homepage software on it's own on a single server? I have done this but it does not collect the status's of the hardware. Which agent do I download and install for a ML350 if it is possible to do it this above mentioned way? Thanks for any assistance.

Hi

The SMH's main purpose is to present data through a local web server to the it admin. The data presented is collected through different protocols and instrumentations such snmp, wbem and Insights Agents.
The SMH can be downloaded and installed on its own. But, without the underlying pieces of software mentionned earlier on, it is an empty box !
To provide the maximum of info on a system, agents must be installed and configured. In order to install SMH and Agents easily, you can install the PSP that includes latest version of the smh and the different agents.
PSP 7.90a for win2003 available here : http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/27534.html

hope it helps

fred
